Initiatives

The Skills @ Work Programme is a simply designed programme aimed at giving students an insight into some of the careers being pursued in Ireland today. Aurvio have been the business linked with our school over the past 10 years to provide support to students previously in TY and most recently students in 2nd year.

Your child along with the rest of their class will take part in the Skills @ Work Programme throughout 2nd Year.

It is based on 4 sessions over the course of an academic year, the Skills @ Work Programme gives students insight into the workplace and ideas about careers  they may not have previously considered. Aurivo’s employees give informal talks to the students about their jobs, their career path, and the life choices that they took along the way. The Marketing department provide team building workshops and a project-based task.

All sessions took place during school hours.

This is a hugely beneficial programme and has been successfully running in our school for the past 10 years and we hope that the partnership between Colaiste Iascaigh and Aurivo continues for many more.

The 4 sessions that place include:

• Visit to the work place/local dairy farm
• Visit to Aurivo head office where employees talk about their roles and careers within the industry
• Team Building and Project
• Programme Wrap up
