As part of the Sligo Community Archaeology Project our 2nd year History students took part in a talk and field trip to Roslee/Easkey Castle. We were delighted to welcome UCG Archaeologist Frank Hall to Colaiste Iascaigh to deliver the talk and guided field trip. Our local area and especially Easkey Castle play a significant role in our history and heritage and all at Colaiste Iascaigh are very happy to be involved in this conservation project with the Sligo Community Heritage group. Frank’s expertise and tour of the castle and surrounding areas really brought our local history to life. Our students thoroughly enjoyed the experience which will also greatly benefit their work on their upcoming History CBA-The Past in my Place.
